Founders’ Warnings

One of the greatest gifts our Founders left us was a clear and concise written record of their thoughts and actions regarding the unique Republic they formed, how to manage it – and most importantly – how to preserve it.

A number of these were warnings… which went hand-in-hand with the government they created… a government uniquely structured with no official party standing.   They experienced firsthand the inequity that results from party controlled government, and their solution was to create an entirely new system… a system of self-government with NO party affiliations.

The Founders’ warnings took on many tones… from suggestions to dire warnings… advocating for peaceful protest up to armed rebellion… that’s how much discontinuing political party involvement meant to them.

While there are hundreds of quotes… here are a few on the Parties.

“The alternate triumphs of different parties … make the public administration the mirror of the ill-concerted and incongruous projects of faction, rather than the organ of consistent and wholesome plans digested by common counsels.” ~ George Washington

“The common and continual mischiefs of the spirit of party are sufficient to make it the interest and duty of a wise people to discourage and restrain it.”~ George Washington

“[The spirit of party] serves always to distract the public councils and enfeeble the public administration. It agitates the community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms, kindles the animosity of one part against another.”~ George Washington

Their sobering thoughts give clear insight into their collective wisdom… to their extensive study of human nature… and to the reasons they specifically formed our Republic the way they did. Jefferson’s admonition of “removing the corruption and restoring its lost principles” is an accurate foretelling of our current plight.

Warnings Unheeded

Sadly, human nature being what it is… the first generations soon reverted back to their old habits.  Their experiential past was so deeply rooted in party affiliations and party loyalties that these habits readily resurfaced… no doubt encouraged by those who were recently disenfranchised from these powerful positions.  Evidently the founders’ messages and warnings were not enough to counter the deep seated patterns of the people.

I’ve personally researched this, and can verify that initial voting records showed that there were no party affiliations associated with any candidates for the various offices… until 1832… then they re-emerged…  the founders’ vision lasted only 40 years!

The rest… as they say… is history. The slow and steady rise in power and control over the American people and the people’s government has been relentless… and always cleverly masked in a shroud of sincerity.  Acting as if they care, the two major political parties have grown our governmental process into a fiscally and socially dangerous entity… all with the net effect of setting aside the Constitution.   The growth of the national government is a testament to their deceit.  They show their true intent and purpose through complete control over this country… turning it – and us – into fractured, chaotic groups… each fearing the other.

So… it’s quite obvious that “We” – the current generations of Americans – have also failed to heed their warnings… if “We” ever knew them.  Sadly, most of the educational structure in place today does not teach this… Is this another outgrowth of political party control?  After all, teaching young people their rights and responsibilities as outlined in our Constitutional framework conflicts with party loyalty and control.

It should be quite obvious that “We” have degenerated into a fear-dominated, collection of un-communicating and distracted groups, solely interested in our intellectual principles and material life…  with little care for our Spiritual oneness and likeness.  “We” appear to be ignorant of the wolf at the door… and the impending loss of the scant few remaining freedoms.  “We” are on the verge of fulfilling the quote by Benjamin Franklin of trading “safety” for liberty… as if what “We” have today even resembles safety.

Recent Warnings

Over the years, government watchdog groups and respected newspapers have exposed this corruption… and the result?  The political party machine creates another distraction… another crisis… and the short attention span of the citizenry coupled with the overwhelming amount of other distractions predictably makes these potentially life-altering exposés disappear.

As with all patterns, other tell-tail signs emerge… this one can be found by looking at the players within the political parties.  Those who foisted this deceit upon the unsuspecting people are rewarded for their efforts… in the form of money, possessions and notoriety akin to royalty.  Many stories have been written describing how politicians leave government service very wealthy and powerful.  These stories are so prolific… so common… that “We the people” don’t even hear them anymore… or if we do, they only serve as fodder for sarcastic or cryptic remarks.  They are just another blip on the radar of the chaos that’s become our political landscape.

Peaceful Solution

I’ve studied our Republics’ dilemma for several decades, looking for definitive solutions… solutions that are peaceful and constructive… and avoids physical or armed confrontation.  The one that emerges is to seek recourse in the least damaged foundational branch… the third branch of our Constitutional government… the Courts… by filing a Class Action lawsuit.

What I propose is the ultimate Class Action lawsuit… in which the People, organized under the subdivisions of their respective States, bring suit against the two major political parties – at every level.  This suit should focus on the damage caused by the political parties to our Constitutional Republic.  It should focus on the abdication of fiduciary responsibility… the usurpation and unilateral control of governmental offices… and alienation of Americans, either directly or through their respective states.  It should include clauses covering monetary damages and equitable relief against the Political Parties and their representatives who unscrupulously gained from their positions within these parties at the peoples’ expense, and – as importantly – to prevent any future repeat of the situation.

Adhering to the time honored and effective principles of “follow the money” and “hit them in the pocketbook”… the purpose of this people-oriented lawsuit would be to strip the two major political parties of their authority, power, and ill-gotten gain… to expose them for the fraud they perpetrated on the American population… and ultimately create an awareness that discredits them to hopefully – and finally – remove them from our governmental landscape.  Ultimately it would also restore the authority, power and ill-gotten gains to the States and their people.

Two things are needed:

1. A high profile Class Action litigator, who would organize the respective states and hopefully their States’ Attorney Generals to become part of this action;
2. American’s participation, encouragement and approval… lots of all three!

Involving the individual States’ Attorney Generals may be challenging since a majority are political party elected positions… which further defines the severity of the problem… that the chief law enforcement officer has party affiliations.  Actually, this could serve as a litmus test to either their Constitutional or Party loyalties… either way the people win.

Whether you are currently active, passive, or not involved in our governmental process, you owe it to yourself… your children… your ancestors… to all those who took an oath…  to those who currently serve, have served and/or died to uphold their oath to our Constitution…  all of them call out to you to help resurrect our heavily damaged Republic and dormant Constitution.

“We” –the current generations– have inherited this responsibility…  it’s up to us to uphold this worthwhile tradition of citizen involvement and correct these serious and potentially fatal flaws to our Republic.

The Founders are still encouraging us through their writings… to preserve this most unique form of self-government… formed by men of exceptional Spiritual guidance… for all of mankind’s benefit… because the Republic of the United States of America is not only a living testament to their principles, it is also a beacon to the world.
