A REPUBLIC<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

\u201cIf You Can Keep It\u201d<\/span><\/h2>\n

The following quote, from one of the founding periods most influential statesman, sums up a key viewpoint and distinction about our Union of States\u2019 unique form of government\u2026<\/p>\n

In August 1787, directly following the close of the Constitutional Convention (USA), Maryland delegate <\/em>to this convention, James McHenry, recorded this significant exchange between Benjamin Franklin and Elizabeth Willing Powel:\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cA lady asked Dr. Franklin:\u00a0 <\/em>\u2018Well Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?\u2019\u00a0 \u2018A republic\u2019, replied the Doctor, \u2018if you can keep it\u2019.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n

But that is not the whole quote\u2026 here is the remainder of it\u2026<\/p>\n

“And why not keep a good thing,” said the lady,” when we have got it?” \u00a0\u00a0“Because madam,” replied the Doctor, “there is in all republics a certain ingredient, of which the people having once tasted, think they never get enough.”<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThe lady here alluded to was Mrs. [Elizabeth Willing] Powel of Philadelphia.\u201d<\/p>\n

SEARCH FOR THE BEST FORM OF GOVERNMENT<\/span><\/h4>\n

The founders \u2014being well educated and researched individuals\u2014 sought out the best examples of governance they could find.\u00a0 One source, Aristotle\u2019s Political Theories<\/a><\/u> provided them clear distinctions between the various forms of government.<\/p>\n

Their extensive research coupled with recent experiences of human nature demonstrated during their fight for separation and political independence from Great Britain, created\u00a0 a desire to form the most practical and protective form of government possible.<\/p>\n

While there were firebrand leaders within the Colonies, the majority of the colonists only wanted an opportunity to live peaceful, secure lives\u2026 raising families and having comfortable, productive lives.\u00a0 In truth, this majority reflected a natural, tried-and-true pattern, one demonstrated throughout recorded civilization\u2026\u00a0 the same one highlighted in the Leader\u2014Follower Paradigm.\u00a0 (See Leader\u2014Follower Article<\/a>)<\/u><\/em>\u00a0 \u00a0This principle exemplifies the second most identifiable \u2014yet least recognized or understood\u2014 trait in human beings, after their male-female identity.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

SOBERING LESSONS OF WAR<\/span><\/h4>\n

The leadership that orchestrated the fight for political independence learned a sobering lesson during that struggle\u2026 that many of the colonists (Followers) did not share their vision or commitment.\u00a0 Do you recall General George Washington\u2019s plight at Valley Forge<\/a><\/u>?<\/p>\n

The Continental Congress could not get the Colonies to supply adequate money, or provisions to support their effort.\u00a0 The Follower-colonists were primarily controlled by an age-old and predictable human trait \u2014experiential patterning\u2014 which was demonstrated in their fear of retribution from the British government.<\/p>\n

This culturally ingrained fear occurred because of their life-long experience with a monarchial form of government\u2026 ostensibly many of the colonists had a hard time overcoming their positions as \u201cloyal subjects of the Crown\u201d\u2026 so much so, that overt support for the revolution was mixed\u2026 even though it would greatly benefit them.<\/p>\n

Plainly \u2014as Followers\u2014 many of the colonists were afraid to defy the King\u2026 and this deeply ingrained cultural conditioning affected their ability to support their colonial leadership with the necessary supplies to overcome their oppressors.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

PRIMARY LESSON OF\u00a0 CULTURAL PATTERNING<\/span><\/h4>\n

The primary lesson that the most visionary colonial Leaders gleaned from their war experiences was to not underestimate the effect or power of ingrained cultural patterning.\u00a0 This led them down a path which provided inherent challenges\u2026 and ultimately to the question\u2026\u00a0 how to create a government with limited authority, yet enough to compel cooperation, participation, and stability?<\/p>\n

Using the overlay of the Leader\u2014Follower paradigm, what formed was a governmental structure that naturally followed this unique patterning\u2026 one that created clear Leader and Follower paths, functions and responsibilities.<\/p>\n

\"\"What ultimately emerged over the months of debate, disagreement, and refinement…
\nduring that hot and humid summer of 1787\u2019s Constitutional Convention\u2026
\nwas this unique citizen-controlled form of government that separated it\u2019s powers between three distinct and equal branches\u2026
\none that creates laws\u2026 one that oversees enactment\u2026 and one that arbitrates that enactment with the rule of law.<\/em><\/p>\n

Ostensibly, a government that citizens had complete control over\u2026 all with a minimum of direct involvement and management<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n

ESTABLISHMENT OF SOVEREIGN CITIZEN AUTHORITY<\/span><\/h4>\n

The key and critical distinction of their newly created system was that citizens \u2014at both the local and state level\u2014 had complete control over the process through their various selection processes.\u00a0 Citizens chose the various officials to perform these functions for them.\u00a0 It was an indirect form of representation,\u00a0 because it was done for the ultimate owners and controllers of the country\u2026 the American Sovereign Owner.<\/p>\n

The uniqueness and protection of this form of government is that it can NEVER be taken away from the citizen-owners because it was memorialized in the written record of that Convention of 1787\u2026 and then, ratified through their representation as individual States.<\/p>\n

Our Federal Constitution is a specifically written constraint,
\nit limits how our elected officials could operate our governmental process,
\nfor the ultimate benefit and protection of our Sovereign-citizen-owners.\u00a0 <\/em><\/span><\/h4>\n

Our Constitution\u2019s sole purpose is to provide a written record of the limitations within which our elected leaders could operate\u2026 it is their specified set of operational limitations\u2026\u00a0 and could only be changed by the Sovereign-citizen-owners\u2026 through their duly elected representatives.<\/p>\n

PRACTICAL LEADER\u2014FOLLOWER FORM OF GOVERNMENT<\/span><\/h4>\n

The Founders created the most practical form of Leader\u2014Follower government ever imagined.\u00a0 This new form of government satisfied several critical functions\u2026 that the Sovereign-citizen-owners had ultimate authority and control\u2026 that their natural Leader\u2014Follower relationship be mirrored, meaning that Followers would not have to be involved in the major decision-making and could TRUST their Leaders to act in their best interests\u2026 or be removed through the election process.\u00a0 No elected position was beyond the reach of the Sovereign-citizen-owners through this unique, limited, and defined form of self-government.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

TRUST IS THE KEY TO SUSTAINABLE SUCCESS<\/span><\/h4>\n

The single most important element necessary for this governmental process or ANY human interaction to be successful is TRUST.\u00a0 Without the ability to TRUST in our interactions, words become worthless\u2026 they lose their ability to create a sense of order and calm.\u00a0 Our ability to communicate through the spoken word has no meaning or value without an associated, and mutually relied upon TRUST.<\/p>\n

TRUST is the emotional glue that hold our words, thoughts, and ideas together.<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Over humanity\u2019s recorded existence, the pattern of this ability to TRUST has been further defined as CHARACTER\u2026 the visible, experiential pattern that becomes a reliable record of actions\u2026 and CHARACTER is ultimately encouraged and shepherded through another critical emotional filter… HONOR.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

HONOR IS OUR CONNECTION TO SPIRIT<\/span><\/h4>\n

Since all of these emotional traits are various energetic representations of our higher self, in order for them to have any substance or value\u2026 they must be grounded in energetic truth.\u00a0 The most grounded truth is rooted in the God energy\u2026 identified as our belief in a higher energetic power of order, balance and purpose.<\/p>\n

Without this most critical energetic grounding, <\/em><\/span>
\nwe are hopelessly lost in a swirling, ever-changing, <\/em><\/span>
\negoically-motivated, intellectual soup of emotions.<\/em><\/span><\/h5>\n

Human history aptly demonstrates that this path has had many ups, downs, and detours.\u00a0 A spiritually dominated path accounts for a minor amount of human progress.\u00a0 Yet, it has been enough to keep humanity on a path of forward progress\u2026 no matter how slow it has been.<\/p>\n

Because of their strong abiding faith and conviction, the founder\u2019s were able to contribute to mankind\u2019s forward progress by gleaning these nuggets of truth and value from their existence\u2026 one awash with oppression, conflict, and injustices.\u00a0 These truths and values emerged and were ensconced in the very documents that became the bedrock of our Constitutional Republic.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

OUR UNION OF STATES IS NOT<\/strong> A DEMOCRACY<\/span><\/h4>\n

To call our Constitutional Republic a Democracy is not only sad\u2026 it is offensive to the Founders clear vision and delineation… and shows a decided lack of understanding of our founding principles and uniqueness.\u00a0 It is also a cruel hoax that misguided Leaders use to distract and disrupt Follower\u2019s perceptions\u2026 painting an unrealistic as well as uncomfortable expectation of their requirement to be continuously involved in this decision making process.\u00a0 The true Leader\u2014Follower paradigm has no such requirements\u2026 only the requirement to TRUST their Leaders and provide periodic feedback.<\/p>\n

This is yet another example of misguided, damaging, and egoically-dominated leadership\u2026 which brings us the last part of the Benjamin Franklin quote\u2026<\/p>\n

“Because madam,” replied the Doctor, “there is in all republics a certain ingredient,
\nof which the people having once tasted, think they never get enough.”<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

And, what is the \u201ccertain ingredient\u201d?<\/h5>\n
RAW, UNFETTERED EGOICALLY-DOMINATED POWER\u2026 <\/span>
\n\u00a0An intellectually-dominated, self-serving, and destructive power…
\nSolely rooted in overt control, domination, and fear.<\/span><\/h6>\n

My writings are littered with many quotes from the founders detailing their concerns and warnings about allowing such unscrupulous Leaders to grow their power and control\u2026 thus reducing yours.\u00a0 (See America’s Unwitting Flirtation with Democracy)<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

Sadly, the chaos and disillusionment of our 2nd<\/sup> Civil War (1861-1865), created the opportunities and vehicle for a massive power and control shift at the hands of the 2-Party Collaborative Alliance (2-PCA)\u2026 which has grown continuously since that time.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

ROOT OF THE PROBLEM<\/span><\/h4>\n

The root of the problem is a lack of TRUST in ourselves as Spirit-led human beings\u2026 and by extension, lack of TRUST and participation in the unique processes created for our continual happiness and advancement.<\/p>\n

Over the past 40 years, I have researched and studied our country\u2019s decline from a Constitutional Republic to an Oligarchy\u2026 and the common denominator of all of the declines points to a single thing\u2026\u00a0 Mismanagement and loss-of-control over our coveted voting processes.\u00a0<\/em> The primary safeguard that the Founders built into this new system of government was this direct control over any position that would effect their daily rights.<\/p>\n
