2019 New Year\u2019s Perspective<\/strong><\/h1>\n

America\u2026 Then & Now\u2026 Are Our Lives Better?<\/em><\/h2>\n

Another 365 day cycle has elapsed\u2026
\n– Are you ready to do it again?
\n– Only this time\u2026 maybe, do it Better?
\n– The real question is\u2026 what is Better?<\/em><\/p>\n

Our United States of America\u2026 Unique in Human History<\/h2>\n

We live in a unique nation, experiencing unique challenges, at a unique time in world and human history\u2026 and the uniqueness that is the United States of America has changed dramatically since the Constitution became our guiding principle in 1789\u2026 yet our needs as humans and Americans have not.<\/p>\n

We still want to be free to choose our destiny, free to choose what to eat, free to choose how we worship, free to speak our mind, free to defend ourselves, and free to use our God given talents in ways that benefit us and our country, yet today, many of these freedoms are curtailed\u2026 how did we let that happen?<\/p>\n

Something that must be realized is that for each of us to have these freedoms, we have to allow others to have them too\u2026 to others, you are part of \u201cthe others\u201d\u2026 and what allows any of us to do this is Trust<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 So, what you allow, you receive\u2026 like the karmic saying, \u201cwhat goes around comes around\u201d. This is classic chicken and egg stuff. So, where does it all start?<\/p>\n

Mind & Spirit<\/h2>\n

Since we think about it, it must start in our Mind, right?\u00a0 No\u2026 actually we have to go to another level\u2026 a deeper place\u2026 the place where things like the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution came from\u2026 we have to go to the Soul\/Spirit level\u2026 the place where true right\/wrong is known.\u00a0 It\u2019s from this place that all of us project our better selves\u2026 that part of us that creates positive change\u2026 that causes mankind to take a step forward.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Founders also had to make that choice\u2026 whether to follow the normally fear-driven Mind\u2026 or access this deeper level of faith-led Spirit.\u00a0 If they had followed their fear-driven Minds, they most probably would have acquiesced and remained as subjects and colonists to King George\u2026 but their deeper Spiritual selves knew better\u2026 their collective deeper Spiritual selves knew that this was the time and place to establish these Spiritual values in a tangible way<\/em>\u2026 and so these enlightened documents and ways of self-management emerged, and became the beacon for this collaboration of States as well as the rest of the world.<\/p>\n

And while most Americans (Then & Now) embrace the fruits and benefits of these documents and the daily way of life they created, sadly, few understood them very well, if at all. Many don\u2019t understand that Trust is what all of this is built on.<\/p>\n

THEN & NOW\u2026<\/h1>\n
\n

I\u2019ve asked people what these documents truly mean to them, and am generally greeted with blank stares.
\nRarely do I hear accurate reflections of what was created and how it should be actualized on a daily basis. <\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

THEN<\/h2>\n

The pre-revolution colonies were a mass of contradictions\u2026 teeming with hope, and possibilities\u2026 and simultaneously throttled and restricted by centuries (and generations) of traditions, class systems, and party rules.\u00a0 Even though the colonists had unlimited opportunities available to them in this new land, they were constantly reminded and limited by the long arm of their ancestral and governmental past\u2026 replete with the trappings and whims of royalty, just to keep it unpredictable.<\/p>\n

Because of the Royal ruling class\u2019s propensities to squabble, there were constant wars\u2026 and thus a constant need to tax the common people to fund these royal dalliances.\u00a0 This constant and increasing need for monies combined with the increasingly oppressive restrictions are what ultimately caused the colonists to create and send The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America<\/em> (The Declaration of Independence) to King George III\u2026 which in turn precipitated his response to \u201csuppress the rebellion\u201d\u2026 which led to our country\u2019s first civil war (1776 Revolution).<\/p>\n

After the colonists won their freedom, these United States\u2019 and the first generations of newly recognized \u201cAmericans\u201d found that things were much simpler.\u00a0 The after-glow of that first Civil War lingered, and the people enjoyed a new sense of freedom which these fresh set of \u201crules\u201d afforded them.<\/p>\n

Daily life evolved with a focus on establishing new patterns without the constant burden of oppressive rules and taxes levied by a distant and uncaring ruler and government.\u00a0 Instead, they learned to manage themselves, at local and state levels.\u00a0 Gone was the layers of bureaucracy and constant need for long distance communications.\u00a0 Their daily life was simplified because now they were able to \u201cself-manage\u201d.<\/p>\n

Sadly, this simplicity and efficiency was eroded by the slow incursion of political party affiliations.\u00a0 Because these early generations of Americans did not heed the founders\u2019 warnings \u2013 these self-serving political groups slowly worked their way back into a position of control, effectively isolating and distancing the citizens from their own governmental processes.<\/p>\n

Many events have impacted the various generations over the last 160 years\u2026 events such as wars, as well as economic and social crisis\u2019\u2026 all used by the political parties to strengthen their hold on the governmental processes that run this country.\u00a0 The net result is that the political parties have effectively replaced \u201cwe the people\u201d and taken over control of the government and all its processes.<\/p>\n

NOW<\/h2>\n

This political party take-over has effectively put the States back to where the Colonies were just before our country\u2019s first Civil War (1776 Revolution).\u00a0 The parallels are clear\u2026 and disturbing.<\/p>\n

THEN\u2026 The Colonies were ruled by King appointed governors who protected his interests\u2026 he also established a government which had little interest in comprehending their daily lives and needs\u2026 consequently levying heavy taxes and regulations.<\/p>\n

NOW\u2026 the States are ruled by political party governors who protect the party\u2019s interests\u2026 and the United States is ruled by a politically appointed President.\u00a0 He rules from a separate and distant locale, and has little interest or comprehension of the daily lives and needs of the citizens of the various States\u2026 and also levies heavy taxes and regulations.<\/p>\n

Remember\u2026
\nthe seat of the power for the national government is not part of the united States\u2026
\nit has its own separate physical location and legal jurisdiction\u2026
\nthe District of Columbia.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n

The political parties have consolidated their power and control there\u2026
\nso everything legally emanates from there.<\/em><\/p>\n

A GOVERNMENT TAKEN OVER<\/h2>\n

The most critical thing to comprehend is that we\u2019ve lost control of our government\u2026 <\/strong>more accurately, we\u2019ve given control of our government to the political parties\u2026 who assured us that they had our best interest in mind\u2026 and would \u201cunburden\u201d us from the daily task of managing it\u2026 but instead turned it into this self-serving (for them) behemoth\u2026 that didn\u2019t turned out so well, did it?<\/p>\n

Over the past two generations, we\u2019ve allowed the political parties to morph our government into a gigantic and burdensome entity that makes daily life in these united States similar to that of the colonial period leading up to the 1776 revolution.<\/p>\n

Many of you are dissatisfied with the current level of governmental control and overreach into States\u2019 rights issues\u2026 into your daily lives. \u00a0\u00a0From my perspective, this political party control is \u201cthe tail wagging the dog\u201d.<\/p>\n

NEW YEAR\u2019S RESOLUTIONS<\/h2>\n

New Year\u2019s Day is traditionally a time to reflect and make changes\u2026 to improve the quality of our lives, both individually and collectively\u2026 because one is inexorably linked to the other.\u00a0 We\u2019ve learned that outlandish and far-fetched goals are quickly forgotten and only serve to make our situation worst, not better.\u00a0 Better would be to make reasonable and attainable goals\u2026 goals that would benefit us both individually and collectively\u2026 and what better goals than those that would focus on dismantling this behemoth that is choking the life out of our united States.<\/strong><\/p>\n

WHAT BETTER LOOKS LIKE<\/h2>\n

To me, Better looks like the restoration of individual freedoms\u2026 States\u2019 control\u2026 and a drastic reduction in overall governmental control.\u00a0 How do we achieve that?\u00a0 By learning and understanding how the \u201cgame\u201d of life is played in these United States of America.\u00a0\u00a0 How???<\/p>\n

  1. Study and comprehend the Founding documents\u2026 they are the rule book for our very existence as a nation\u2026\u00a0 If you do that, you\u2019ll be surprised to find out that the political parties got their power by taking away your power and denying your authority.\u00a0 To the political parties, you truly are a second class citizen, who can be bullied\u2026 and manipulated\u2026 and taxed mercilessly\u2026 but \u2013 wait a minute \u2013 isn\u2019t that what caused the 1776 revolt??\u00a0 (I truly believe that the only reason we don\u2019t have a revolt now is because the majority of the population is so distracted<\/em>)<\/li>\n
  2. Stop electing and re-electing party hacks\u2026 I.E. someone that is owned and groomed by the political parties.\u00a0 Instead, find and elect people who have a genuine interest in your local issues and is an effective spokesperson for your area\u2026 whether that be a state or federal elected official.\u00a0 Find people who place your beliefs first, not some political party\u2019s version of what they think you want.<\/li>\n
  3. Return key elected positions \u2013 such as the Presidency and Governor\u2019s offices \u2013 to non-partisan positions\u2026 similar to Judges\u2019 offices.\u00a0 ALL of the original officeholders were that way\u2026 focused on consensus building, not partisan politics.<\/li>\n
  4. Study and contemplate the 17th amendment\u2026 it removes the States\u2019 Senators from their constitutionally directed participation in the Congress\u2026 and gives the political parties official representation in our governmental process \u2013 with NO accountability or control by the citizens<\/em>\u2026 it needs to be repealed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    If we focused our attention on just these four things, we would be well on our way back to a Constitutional Republic\u2026 to a place of less rules\u2026 less government\u2026 more freedoms\u2026 more opportunities\u2026 and most importantly \u2013 more peace of Mind and Freedom to live our lives.<\/p>\n

    Now, that would be a good new year\u2026 do you agree?<\/p>\n
